Muslim scholars Reachout to Christian Leaders

More than 130 Muslim scholars have written to Patriarch Abune Paulos, Pope Benedict XVI and other Christian leaders urging greater understanding between the two faiths. The letter says that world peace could depend on improved relations between Muslims and Christians.

It identifies the principles of accepting only one god and living in peace with one's neighbours as common ground between the two religions. It also insists that Christians and Muslims worship the same god.

History tells us that Muhammad himself wrote and dispatched a letter to different christian kings, including the Ethiopian king. The letter urged christians to convert to Islam, otherwise ....

Now after hundreds of years, another letter reached christian offices. I hope no patriarch, pope or bishop would agree with "we worship one god" fallacy and make the greatest mistake of all times.

It is clear we do not worship the same God.

Christian God:.
. One God Three Persons (Father, Son, Holy Spirit)
. Christ is God the Son incarnate Who was born of the Virgin Mary for our salvation.

The central doctrine of the Christian faith is that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for sinners and that by accepting Christ and His Mission, one is "saved" and is guaranteed a home in Heaven. Muslims do not believe God had a Son and, therefore, no atonement for sin is necessary. Muslims believe simply telling God one is sorry and repenting of sin is enough, if one also lives up to the five "pillars" of Islam. Furthermore, according to Muslims, Jesus did not die on a cross (as Christians believe); instead, God allowed Judas to look like Jesus and Judas was crucified.

No Way!! We do not Worship One God.

I have recently read a very moving article about Islam and Christianity in Amharic. I wish all of you could see it.

As according to the Scholars the Open Letter that was sent to the Christian leaders is for the purpose of bring peace to the world. This in their part would only be achieved by coming to a common ground that is ‘love of the One God’ which God are we talking about the one on the Bible or the one on the Qu’ran ? We don’t need to mingle the doctrine to bring peace. And the sense of respect that will be obtained in such a way won’t be the proper one because for a person to give full respect 100% He/She has to believe Jesus Christ is God incarnate and Muhammad is the true Prophet which is impossible. The kind of respect we need is a respect for our difference. So what is the message behind? The church of Vatican is going to hold on the response until they have completely read the Letter that is very crucial .A careful analysis is required. If not, there isn’t much the Muslims care they have a book ,for what ever the consequence, that supports their doing .Read Al-Baqara 002.190
