Muslims in the DC Area Host Dinner for Kinijit Delegation?

Kinijit leaders Dr Hailu Araya, Ato Gizachew Shiferraw, Ato Brook Kebede and Dr Berhanu Nega held a four-hour working dinner with several representatives of the Ethiopian Muslim community in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. The meeting took place in an Afgan restaurant in Northern Virginia. Wzt. Bertukan Mideksa, who was sick with flue, could not attend the meeting.

Comment: We have no objection if anyone of any religion to meet his/her political appointees. But Christians should be concerned with the recent religious developments in Ethiopia. Some time ago, some muslim representatives met with Meles, and discussed different agendas that "need immediate response". People of the same ideology are now meeting Kinijit delegation. The agenda will defiantly be in the media soon. But it is obvious, it will be about'historical' questions regarding , the role of the Muslim community etc.

Kinijit leaders should be very cautious about what they say, do and promise. They should not repeat the same fallacy EPRDF is committing: recognizing a Christian king as Muslim, criminalizing the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, etc.

Cher Were Yaseman, amen
